Kids closets are not really that different from any other clothes closet in the house, but there are a few details to think about that will support your child's well being and habits of tidiness.
Children's clothes are small enough to allow for triple hang instead of double hang. This allows for the lower rod to be low enough for your child to reach. As your child grows, you can remove a rod and make that section into a regular double hang.
Other features that work well are pull out baskets and drawers that your child can throw toys into easily and keep order in the room.
This is where the doors can become a problem:
In my experience, more and more people are taking out the sliding doors and either replacing them with bi-fold doors or leaving them out altogether.
With melamine, you can plan a beautiful closet that will support your child's good habits. If the closet is not big enough, you can have a matching wall unit designed that combines any of the elements listed below.
I have designed closets that include a desk area with a file drawer and bookshelves right next to their clothes and toys.
The right combination the following items will help your child learn early how to get well organized and enjoy a spacious and tidy room:
Several considerations:
A kids closet can be designed in such a way that it will later on serve as a guest bedroom. So many features of melamine closets are adjustable, it is easy for a designer to give your child what it needs now, and allow for you to transform the closet later as your household changes.
